Current Aid
Currently there are efforts being made to raise money for the toilet blocks at Jean Wesley School that will be built in 2009. The new orphanage in Jeremie is well underway and a recent update can be seen here.
The plan is to finish the orphanage, being built by Haiti Children Project, and be financailly ready to start right away on the Seniors home. As you can tell by the pictures, the Seniors are in great need of adequate housing. It is hoped that they will share meals and relationships with the children that will live in the new orphange, which will be right next to the Seniors home.
Jeremie Relief needs to raise $125,000 in order to start construction on the Seniors home. We hope you can find it in your hearts and pockets to donate any amount that is comfortable.

Since electricity is erratic everything is done manually. Wood is split lengthwise for timbers for the orphanage |

The latrine for Jean Wesley School is at the top of a path so eroded the smaller children cannot even climb it. Hopefully it will be replaced by a toilet block in 2009. |

This is the current latrine at Jean Wesley School. Children hate to use it. |
